The first year of activity of CARDIOPATCH has been marked by the pandemic situation. These have been months of virtual meetings and interactive contact between the partners. That is why the Consortium Annual Meeting scheduled for the 21st of October will be a special opportunity for the project’s members to get to know each other better and to create a strong relationship to achieve the important goals of this project co-funded by the EU Interreg Sudoe Programme, via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
After a whole year of activity, it is time to assess what has been made and bring together the different perspectives that are crucial for the success of the project.
The meeting, that will take place in the Hôtel-Dieu Saint Jacques located in Toulouse (France), will be an occasion for discussing the latest activities of the project in the mission of developing an advanced therapy model for patients with myocardial infarction.
Jérôme Roncalli, from Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse (CHUT), will be responsible for welcoming all the attendees at 08:30 AM followed by Felipe Prósper, the scientific coordinator of CARDIOPATCH, who will give a brief introduction to the meeting.
After that, each Work Package (WP) leader will give an updated analysis on the activities performed up to date, the next activities to be made in the upcoming months and the status of the deliverables.
Besides an update of the scientific activities, the status of the project platform, the tasks related to the transfer and exploitation of the products developed within the initiative, the promotion of synergies between health and 3D printing sectors activities and the communication actions will also be reviewed.
Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN) will overview the project management and reporting actions as well, and the members of the Financial and Technical project committees will hold a short meeting to address the issues regarding this area.
Finally, the associated partners of CARDIOPATCH will hold the External Advisory board meeting where they will give their point of view about the activities already developed and the next project actions.
The event will end at 04:15 PM with a summary made by Dr. Prosper with the most important aspects agreed during the event and an overview of the work actions that will be taken in the upcoming months.
Coordinated by CUN, CARDIOPATCH project is working in the development of a stem-cell smart patch able to regenerate tissues damaged by infarction. The project also aims to develop a roll-up 3D device which will allow the patch implantation in the heart through less invasive methods and a 3D system to generalize the patch’ production and streamline transport.
The initiative also includes partners from Spain, France and Portugal. Alongside of CUN, the consortium is made up by CIMA Universidad de Navarra, via the Foundation for Applied Medical Research, Leartiker Technology Center, Institut de Recerca de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, communication agency GUK, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse, the University of Montpellier (UM) - Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron (IBMM), GenIbet Biopharmaceuticals and the Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica.
CARDIOPATCH Excellent Network born to advance in the field of Cardiac Regenerative Medicine and 3D printing applied to Myocardial Infarction treatment.
